Torrent of Jirijirimo

Between Vaupes and Amazon departments, in the lower-middle part of Apaporis river is the torrent of Jirijirimo called "The Anaconda Bed" due to numerous aquatic boas inhabiting the area.

The climate is hot and humid with temperatures of around 25 to 30 degrees Celsius.
This area is dominated by traditional indigenous communities where the river is still the only mean of communication and transportation. This river is characterized by waterfalls and rapids in the middle of the vast green expanse of the jungle, home to lush flora featured by epiphytes, parasites, and fungi bromeliads, it also has a variety of vegetation such as forests and flooding savannas, shrub land in hills, cracks and rivers.
It is an adventurous journey to territories that are still unexplored because of their inaccessibility. From the river arises the traditional indigenous culture giving this place a sacred and mythological character.
