The Butulú Mountain is located 3 kilometers from the town of Vega. The ascent goes through farms and forest areas. At the beginning we hike on an unpaved road, later the road converts into a mountain trail taking us to the summit which is a great viewpoint overlooking the whole region.
On the slopes of the hill varieties of orchids and bromelias can be found. In clear days you can see the Nevado del Ruiz in the central Andean mountain range.
We return to the town on the same route and after a short car ride and a short walk we visit the Tabacal lake located around 5km from the town.
The cost of the hike includes transport and guides. Each hiker brings his own lunch. One should be prepared for changing weather - sun and rain, hot and cold.
