This rout is located in the eastern mountain range of Andes featured by deep canyons where the visitor is struck by the grandeur of the nature and the people who built the path.

San Juanito is one of the few municipalities in the Meta department that is not situated in the plains. It is located in the basin of the Rio Guatiquia, 45 km from Villavicencio to the east of the Chingaza National Park at an altitude of 1900 meters above sea level.

The ancient trail from Chingaza to San Juanito was part of the network of different paths which the early colonists from Choachí and Fómeque used for trade with the provinces of the Colombian plains.

This is a trip back in time across the canyon of Guatiquia River in the paradise of orchids, birds, waterfalls and flowering walkways.
