In the department of Santander, 118 km from Bucaramanga and 225 km from the city of Bogotá is the town of Barichara, which was declared a National Monument of Colombia because of its unique architecture with cobbled streets and traditional colonial balconies. One of the tourist attractions is the viewpoint located in the park of Jorge Delgado Sierra and Rafael Ortiz Prada with a length of 600 Mts from which you can observe the Valley of Suarez river and the Grand Cordon of Lloriquíes.
Besides walking on real ancient paths bordering the canyon of Suarez river it is also possible to enjoy other activities such as espeology in the cave La Antigua, ideal for observing mineral formations, hiking and canyoning in the town of Socorro with medicinal waterfalls called Juan Curi reaching up to 300 meters. Canoing in the Fronce River is an option. This place is frequently visited by those who enjoy landscape photography and seeing animals in their natural habitat.
