The beautiful “páramo” lake is situated at 3,700 m above sea level, in the municipality of Tausa (25 km northwest of Zipaquirá). To get there you take the road leading from Cogua to San Cayetano and in the place called Laguna Seca (Dry Lake) is the walk´s starting point.

The walk is on a rolling terrain surrounded by wetlands of the lake. It is known for the beauty of the “frailejones” and the never ending singing of the multicolored frogs inhabiting the lake. In the extensive area one can still see rabbits, ducks, guinea pigs and eagles. Over the last years the lake has been recovering from fires and the growing potato industry. The complete trek to the lake is done in around 4 hours.

The cost of the hike includes transportation and guidance. Each person must bring lunch and beverages. Always be prepared for rain, cold or heat. We recommend to bring some clothe to change after the hike.
