The páramo of OCETA is considered to be the most beautiful páramo in Colombia and considering that this type of ecosystem is only present in very few countries in the tropical zone, it could be easily considered as the most beautiful in the world. It is located at 3,400 meters above sea level in the west of Mongui municipality (in the department of Boyaca, recently was recognized as the prettiest village of the department).
In the area one can find spectacular landscapes of stone hiding in the fog just like the lost cities. The senecio and frailejones form beautiful gardens at high altitude that converts this destination into something very unique and privileged. On a clear day one can see the páramo of Pisba and the Snowy mountain range of Cocuy, Güicán and Chita.
This hike has a medium difficulty level and presents opportunity for both beginners and experienced hikers.
